The Bath Guitar School Blues Band!


The Bath Guitar School Blues Band is open to all adult guitar students. The open rehearsal sessions are designed to give participants valuable playing experience whilst building confidence and performance skills. The rehearsals are run in a workshop style with demonstration and handouts throughout.

What to bring?

Band members will need to bring the following equipment to rehearsals:

  1. Guitar (Electric Only)
  2. Amplifier (15/30 Watt)
  3. Plectrums
  4. Guitar Cable
  5. Guitar Strap
  6. Effects Pedals
  7. Music Stand
  8. Note Pad and Pen

Repertoire?

The Bath Guitar School Blues Band focuses on a number of blues styles including Chicago blues, Texas blues, and slow blues with improvised blues solos. The sessions will also cover classic blues tracks from Chuck Berry's 'Jonny B Goode' through to Lynrd Skynrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama'.

When?

Rehearsals are held once a month, usually on Sundays*, at a professional rehearsal facility in Batheaston. Additional rehearsals will be arranged in preparation for local festival and venue performances.

*rehearsals can be arrange to fit band member commitments.

Where?

The Bath Guitar School Blues Band rehearse at Riverside Studios in Batheaston. The studio is a professional rehearsal and recording facility that has been used by some of the UK's top artists, including: Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, Goldfrapp, Pino Palledino (John Mayer Trio), Basement Jaxx and Baby Shambles to name just a few!

Cost?

Each rehearsal session will last for approximately 2 hours and will cost £20 per session.
